Brigham Young men's coach Ed Eyestone and women's coach Diljeet Taylor reflect on the individual title sweep of Conner Mantz and Whittni Orton-Morgan at the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla. Mantz became the first male athlete to repeat since Oregon's Edward Cheserek won three in a row from 2013-15, in addition to becoming the first American-born men's back-to-back winner since Oregon's Steve Prefontaine in 1970-71. Orton-Morgan became the first women's individual champion in BYU history, after helping the Cougars capture their first team title March 15 in Stillwater, Okla. Mantz and Orton-Morgan became the first teammates since Indiana's Bob Kennedy and Michelle Dekkers in 1988 to sweep the Division 1 individual titles.
