Whittni Orton-Morgan became the first student-athlete from Brigham Young to capture a Division 1 women's cross country national title, prevailing in the 6-kilometer championship race in 19:25.4 at the NCAA final at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla. Orton-Morgan helped BYU place second by an 84-122 margin behind North Carolina State.
