SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Four BYU athletes competed in the 2014 USATF Championships from Jun. 25-29, including Chase Dalton, who finished fifth in the decathlon Friday in Sacramento. A senior in 2014, Dalton finished second among collegiate athletes with 7,592 points, trailing only Wisconsin’s Zach Ziemek. Dalton’s highest finish in the ten events came in the javelin throw, in which he finished second with a throw of 60.69 meters. He threw the discus 44.06 meters – good for fourth overall in the event.
