Brigham Young seniors Erica Birk and Courtney Wayment took second and third at the West Coast Conference Championships, covering the 6-kilometer layout in 19:49.4 and 19:55.4 at the Woodley Lakes Golf Course in Van Nuys, Calif. Birk and Wayment helped BYU sweep the top three spots and place eight athletes in the top 10 to prevail against Portland by an 18-84 margin and capture a second straight team championship.
